The Scripps Research Institute has been awarded a three–year $600,000 grant from the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust to continue its widely praised Education Outreach Program at Scripps Florida in Palm Beach County. "I am extremely pleased that the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust has renewed its significant support of our education outreach efforts," said Deborah Leach–Scampavia, who directs the program. "This is a great testament to the value of our program and to the hard work of everyone involved, particularly our main partner, the School District of Palm Beach County. Our prime objective is to tackle with proliferating illiteracy hovering across the most backward slums of Basti Hzt. Nizamuddin. N.C.T. undertakes some educational projects at the grass-roots level to strengthen the very foundation of the community. With the limited available resources NCT is successfully organizing various programs.

Non formal Education Centre: Under this program, 45 - 50 pre-school children of the slums among the age group of 3 years to 12 years are enrolled every year for imparting basic education. These children find themselves admitted in the formal school. NCT has successfully admitted over 900 children in the formal Schools.

Free Tuition / Coaching Classes: The percentage of dropout students from schools is quite high, due to neglect and illiteracy among the parents. Many parents were unable to pay private tuition fees; which made the students detained in respective subjects. Nizamia Charitable Trust organizes coaching class for the Xth standard before examinations. It also intends to commence tuitions for all the classes from Vth to XIIth shortly.

School with Arabic Education: About 60 children, boys and girls below 14 years are taught basic tenets of islam i.e, Quran, Hadith & Fiqh with the modern education. They are also taught basic values of love, peace, brotherhood and respect for all.

Vocational Courses
Responding to the needs of less educate and unemployed youths of the slums of Delhi and nearby states NCT has started some vocational training courses including Computer education, mobile phone repair, repair of electrical appliances and maintenance and tailoring and cutting for the women. Muslim Aid, London, with this view, has extended possible support for the NCT to excel in extending quality education through fully-equipped premier training centres at Basti Hzt. Nizamuddin, New Delhi.
